Ruth Gordon mini-bio: Although she worked in film for years, Ruth Gordon received more fame from her stage work- that is until such films as "Rosemary's Baby" (for which she won both an Oscar and a Golden Globe) and most notably "Harold and Maude" made her a movie star. She passed away in 1985.
I think it should also be stated that Ruth Gordon was also an amazing writer early in her career being nominated for an Oscar for co-writing "Adam's Rib" starring Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn. She is one of the most talented actors I've seen, and the picture of her on the cover of "Harold & Maude" really does her no justice as that's the picture most people associate her with, unfortunately.
