Sacha Baron Cohen is a British actor, comedian and writer, probably best known for his characters Ali G, Borat and Brüno. Despite how these characters might portray him, he has been described as a very soft-spoken and intelligent as well as private person. He was born in Staines (Surrey, England) into an Orthodox Jewish family, one of three sons to Daniella and Gerald Baron Cohen. He is currently engaged to the Australian actress Isla Fisher, whom he had his daughter, Olive Baron Cohen with.

Before going into acting/comedy he considered pursuing a PhD, and went to and graduated from Christ's College, Cambridge with a major in History. He also acted in various plays such as Fiddler on the Roof and Cyrano de Bergerac at the Cambridge University Amateur Dramatic Club.

After leaving university he worked as a fashion model, which he says is where the inspiration for this character Brüno came from, as well as being on various television broadcasts, such as hosting a weekly programme on Windsor's cable's television's local broadcasts with Carol Kirkwood, being the host for Pump TV, presenting the youth chat programme (alongside Natasha Kaplinsky) in F2F, and working for a Paramount Comedy channel. During these years he began to perfect his characters, such as Ali G, who shot to fame when first appearing on the British television show The Eleven O'Clock Show in 1998.

Da Ali G Show first began in 2000, a show in which Sacha Baron Cohen, in either his character of Ali G, Borat or Brüno, would interview various people, often celebrities or politicians with seemingly brainless questions, which no matter how dumb, the person being interviewed would try their best to answer for him. The show was short-lived, with 2 seasons and a total of 12 episodes, with subjects such as war, peace and 'respek'.

Apart from Da Ali G Show, as well as his three full-length films based off the characters in that show; Ali G Indahouse, Borat and Brüno, Sacha Baron Cohen has also appeared in films, with much more minor roles, such as Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, and as a voice over in Madagascar and Madagascar 2: Escape 2 Africa.

Sacha Baron Cohen is currently working on a new film, Curly Oxide and Vic Thrill, although there is very little information on the film at this time.
