Sam Riley is a British actor who played the lead role of Ian Curtis in the movie "Control", a movie about the lead singer of the 1970's post-punk band "Joy Division".
He played Mark E. Smi...( read more)th in the previous film that featured "Joy Division". The movie was called "24 Hour Party People".
He was also the lead singer of the Leeds band "10,000 Things" and more briefly he was with the band "the Horned Owls".
In September 2007, Sam Riley was cast in Gerald McMorrow's British science fiction film "Franklyn".
Riley is from Leeds, but currently lives in Berlin with his "Control" co-star Alexandra Maria Lara.He fell in love with her while filming this movie.
