Steven Strait is an American actor, fashion model, and singer. He was born on March 23rd, 1986 in New York City. He grew up in Manhattan's Greenwich Village, where he was exposed to the cultural arts at a young age, particularly in theater and music.
Acting career
Strait began taking acting lessons at the age of eleven. In the sixth grade, he began to take performing classes at the Village Community School. Although forced into it at first, he found a passion for acting after he performed live for the first time. He has worked at the Stella Adler Acting Studio and the Black Nexxus Acting Studio in New York City.
Steven worked with some of the best photographers in the business before making his small screen debut in an episode of the popular television drama Third Watch.
In 2004, after graduating from Xavier High School he moved to California to pursue a career in acting. After his first audition he received an acting job, and in 2005, he debuted in his first movie, Sky High where he played a teenage superhero named Warren Peace. He covered The Fixx song "One Thing Leads to Another" for the film's soundtrack.
His next movie appearance was alongside Ashlee Simpson (in her movie debut) and Pell James in Undiscovered, a movie about young actors in the entertainment industry who want to become stars.
In 2006 he starred as Caleb Danvers in The Covenant, a horror/thriller film which opened on September 8, 2006.
Strait appeared opposite Camilla Belle in 10,000 BC, a film about pre-historic Earth, released in March 2008. He plays a young mammoth hunter D'Leh as he travels through unknown lands on a quest to rescue his people from extinction.
He appears in the 2008 movie Stop Loss as Michael Colson. He is currently working on a movie named "City Island" in New York. He has just recently wrapped filming "Priest" with Gerard Butler.

It's just underwear. Everybody wears underwear." Before he was recognized as an actor,Steven got early recognition as model while he was a teenager. Steven modeled for L’Uomo Vogue, Spoon Magazine, Details, Surface Magazine and Pop Magazine. He is also highly sought after by top fashion photographers such as Dah Len, Peter Murdoch Ellen von Unwerth, Herb Ritts, Steven Klein and Bruce Weber. Working with Weber got Steven featured in his 2001 book, All-American: Short Stories.

Music
"I’ve always loved music, and it’s always been more private than acting for me. A lot of people I know didn’t even know I sang." Strait started as the singer for Invidia, a death metal band from NYC. The band was composed of Riyaad Edoo (Ambient Death) along with Lukasz Gunia, Michael D'Andrilli (The Tribe), and Geoff Toelocca (The Tribe). Steve was asked to leave from the band when his vocal style and performance was not on par with the rest of the band.
Strait later formed The Tribe with Michael. However, due to Strait's upcoming movie roles, the band has moved on without him and are no longer working together. Steve however, has signed to Lakeshore Records and is scheduled to record and release a full length solo album. Steven did the vocalizations on two soundtracks: one cover song in his first movie, 'Sky High', and seven songs in his first starring-role film, 'Undiscovered'.

Even though he may seem to be famous, Steven claims that he tries to keep himself grounded from all the fame. At 22, this star has already impressed most entertainment critics whether in modeling, acting or singing. ~.~
"If there's a door, you have to walk through it, a door isn't going to do anything for you by itself. You have to be willing to take advantage of things when the time comes, and be secure about yourself when you walk through, because if you're not you may well trip and fall."
