4 A League Of Their Pwn - Its ironic that, a game associated with male players, a film that focuses on the woman's 1st pro entry in2 the sport, would B the 1 that, IMO, captures the feeling which best reflects of why this sport's truly an American pasttime. That the purpose of a game is, no matter how the political world events may be turbulently transpiring, we all can just escape for a little while, catch a ballgame & hopefully return into the real world with our spirits a little higher & our perspectives a little bit clearer. B'cuz, as we all know by now, there is no crying in baseball.

Simply put Tom Hanks is the Greatist Actor of all time. How any one could have gone from a cross dressing roomate on a dimwitted sitcom to achieve his success is incredible. No one in Amercain cinema has the range and the depth of character as Tom Hanks. No role is beyond his reach, he has resisted that muscle bound hero roles. Tom Hanks in Die Hard or Rocky would never work, nor would Tom Hanks in Preditor or The Terminator be as successful. However, I believe he still could have pulled them off. No challenge is too great and as we saw in Cast Away, even with nearly 1 hour and 30 minutes of screen time and no other actors, with the exception of a Soccer Ball, Tom Hanks was still superb. Can you imagine and hour and thirty minutes of Tom Cruise, alone? Will Smith tried it and failed miserably. Frankly, there is no one to compare Tom Hanks to. Any role, any scene, any co-star or lack there of, any setting. He succeeds. One role escapes him. A True Villian.

Tom, I've always liked you/your work. In 1994 When I joined the Navy, Forrest Gump came out the day I went to Boot-Camp. I got the nick-name Forrest Gump,1 week later. I saw the movie on my week-end pass, in Great Lakes Illinois. Forrest & I have alot in common, that's why I've kept it for 14 years. There are people that don't even know my real name! That's cool!
