He married Helen Irving, and they had two children, David (1940) and Diana (1943). Peter was a very talented musician, he was especially good at playing the organ. After the death of his wife in the 1990's he continued to live in their apartment in Little Common, in Bexhill on Sea with his daughter Diana. In spite of his old age he was in good vigour until he was diagnosed with cancer. He passed away on the 29th of August in 2003. He is greatly missed by, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
