Since that time, she has worked with virtually every leading Swedish director, including Ingmar Bergman, Arne Mattson, Gustav Molander, Bo Widenberg, and Alf Sjoberg. Her most celebrated film performance was the title role in Sjoberg's Miss Julie (1951). Among her rare non-Swedish film assignments was the 1954 20th Century Fox Cold War drama, Night People, one of her two English-language films.
