He legally changed his surname to Ochocinco (the Spanish translation of the number on his jersey) in 2008. Ochocinco would prove to be a prominent figure in popular culture, due both to his role in the NFL and to his public persona, appearing in his own segment on the series Sports Soup, maintaining an active Twitter account, and competing on the popular reality series Dancing With the Stars in 2010.
