Mayo had starred in such stage productions as Seven Keys to Baldpate (with George M. Cohan) and Excuse Me and also appeared in vaudeville prior to making her screen debut around 1916. Today, Mayo can be seen as John Barrymore's nemesis in the comedy-drama Raffles, the Amateur Cracksman (1917), an entertaining version of E. W.
