He received his first drum-kit from his brother for his 14th birthday, it had been made from old garbage cans and a young Christoph played it constantly. At some point in his life Christoph served his military service and after this played in various bands before joining Rammstein in 1993. He married, although is now divorced, and has at least one child from his marriage. He is a private person, speaks broken English and dislikes people who complain. More recently he has made a slight change to his name, preferring to be addressed only as Schneider.
