As one of his first assignments, Annable signed on as one of the lead characters, Aaron, in the drama/murder mystery series Reunion (2005). The program explored occurrences in the lives of six former high school friends from 1986 through 2006, and recounted events leading up to the murder of one of the major characters, or at least it was supposed to. Unfortunately, it folded not long after it premiered -- the victim of low ratings -- so the story was only revealed through the year 1994, the ninth episode. Annable fared infinitely better (yet received slightly lower billing) on the prime-time ensemble drama Brothers & Sisters, starring Sally Field, Calista Flockhart, Rachel Griffiths, and Balthazar Getty. That series concerned the trials and travails befalling one extended California family; Annable played Justin, a psychologically damaged Afghan war veteran with drug problems. Brothers & Sisters encountered mediocre reviews on par with Reunion when it premiered in September 2006, but drew favorable ratings, presumably thanks in no small part to that cast, and it continued on for several seasons. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi
