He left production to return to acting, doing several small theater turns in Los Angeles before getting his break in "Leaving Las Vegas."

He had several small and walk-on parts in several big films and bigger roles in smaller films (i.e. the short film "Memory Denied It" and the feature, "Pariah"). He earned an Elliot Norton Award with his cast for the Boston premiere of Eric Bogosian's "Suburbia." He returned to film as both filmmaker and actor in "The Autumn Heart", his first screenplay and an official entry in "Sundance's Dramatic Competition." The film went on to win the Nantucket Film Festival.
