Usually cast as rather defenseless heroines, she gained worldwide fame as Dr. Jekyll's (King Baggot) imperiled fiancée in Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1913) and that same year, played the heroine Mary Barton in the studio's first major undertaking, the still extant Traffic in Souls. She was the princess in The Prisoner of Zenda (1915), filmed in England by George Loane Tucker, and played royalty of a different kind in the underwater spectacular 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1916).
