(1966). The same year he landed the role of little Jodie on the syrupy sitcom Family Affair (1966-1971). In 1971, he appeared as a demonically possessed boy in Steven Spielberg's made-for-television film Something Evil. The following year, he contracted with Disney Studios and appeared in a string of live-action features. A devout Mormon, Whitaker attended Brigham Young University during the mid-'70s, but left to go on a two-year mission.
