Laskin took one of her earliest big-screen bows as a physician in the A-list feature John Q. (2002), starring Denzel Washington and James Woods; at about the same time, she also frequently appeared in popular TV series including Body and Soul (as a cast regular) and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (as a guest star).
