Bio: Lewis S. Meltzer was 29 when he was hired as a screenwriter at Columbia in 1939. In an incredibly short space of time, Meltzer worked his way up from the "B" unit to such big-budgeters as Golden Boy (1939), The Lady in Question (1940), Texas (1941) and Once Upon a Time (1944). Throughout the 1950s, Meltzer continued to be associated with such major releases as Man With the Golden Gun (1955) Autumn Leaves (1956). Lewis S.
