In that program -- a silly and goofy sitcom about a sixth grader's adventures at a new middle school -- Shaw played Mose, the lead character's one and only female friend and the object of affections from the local tough. That series folded after three seasons, and the actress went on to play high-schooler Claire Tolchuck, the popular older sister of awkward main character Justin (Dan Byrd), on the culture-clash comedy Aliens in America, which lasted just one season. That short-lived series led to another brief run on the small screen in 10 Things I Hate About You.
