A hard-boiled blonde both onscreen and off, Methot snarled her way through supporting parts in such films as Corsair (1931), Jimmy the Gent (1933), Dr. Socrates (1933), Mr. Deeds Goes to Town (1936), and, best of all, Marked Woman (1937). Upon marrying Bogart in 1936, Methot began cutting down on her movie appearances. By the time of her divorce from Bogart following his affair and subsequent marriage to Lauren Bacall, Methot's film career was virtually inactive. Although she received a substantial divorce settlement, her personal problems continued. She died in 1951, at the age of 47. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
