The son of a Turkish Agricultural Minister he became fascinated with the art of acting whilst studying for a BSc honours degree in Psychology at University of London.On completion of his BSc and later a Master's degree in Business Administration (M.B.A) Mem went on to audition and graduate with a Postgraduate Diploma in Classical Acting from the world renowned drama school LAMDA (The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art)Mem is very dedicated to his craft as an actor. A firm believer in helping others to succeed he is often noted for making generous contributions to Drama Student Hardship Funds. He is bilingual, speaking English and Turkish fluently and is also a master of Eastern European accents as can be witnessed in his chilling performances as the Russian, Andrei, in the powerful drama A Good Murder (ITV 1) with Juliet Aubrey and the lead role of Andrei Beschastnykh in ITV's popular drama Heartbeat, in which he plays a Russian trawlerman, once again delivering an emotional, sensitive and compelling performance.The real-life background that formed Mem's persona is as colourful as some of his acting roles. Elements such as an assassination attempt on his father's life, the tragic loss of his beloved actor friend Arda Kanpolat whilst filming and a real life heist in which Mem was to be a getaway driver. It comes as no surprise that with spellbinding authenticity Mem can take audiences to those dangerous places of gangsters (Guy Ritchie's Revolver) sharing the screen with Ray Liotta and Jason Statham, killers, psychopaths, and rapists (Elshera) in which Mem plays the lead role Mustafa.
