The blonde actress was shown off to excellent advantage in her very first film, Undertow (1949), playing a witness to a gangland slaying. Peggy was also quite good in the thankless romantic-lead role in Harvey (1950), and even better as the steadfast girlfriend of blind war veteran Arthur Kennedy in Bright Victory (1951).
