Richard Brauer

Bio: Rich Brauer is president of Brauer Productions, Inc., an independent film production company he founded in 1977, after graduating with a B.A. in Motion Picture Production and Undersea Photographic Technology from Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, California.

He has produced hundreds of award-winning commercial and educational projects for clients as diverse as The History Channel, Twentieth Century Fox, Consumers Energy, Harcourt-Brace Publishing, EDS, Society of American Foresters, Subway Sandwiches, U.S. Coast Guard, and many others.

In the early 80s, Brauer produced a series of educational films focusing on Great Lakes maritime history, culminating in 1987 with "The Wreck and Rescue of the Schooner J.H. Hartzell", which appeared nationally on PBS. In 2005, it was re-mastered and re-released on Home Video/DVD. In 1993, Brauer produced and directed his first feature film "Sleeping Bear". In 1999, Brauer produced and directed Ernest Borgnine in the feature "The Lost Treasure of Sawtooth Island", which is being distributed worldwide by Mainline Releasing, Los Angeles. In 2000, Brauer served as Director of Photography and Interim Producer for the Jeff Daniel's comedy, "Escanaba in da Moonlight". In 2001, he served again as Director of Photography on another Jeff Daniel's comedy feature, "Super Sucker". Also in 2001, Brauer served as Director of Photography on the remake of the classic Ambrose Bierce Civil War tale, "An Occurrence at Owl Creek", directed by Brian Egen and shot on location in West Virginia and North Carolina.

Brauer wrote and directed the land stewardship film, "Barn Red" in 2004, starring Ernest Borgnine and Kimberly Norris Guerrero, which is being distributed worldwide by Porchlight Entertainment, Los Angeles. In 2005, Brauer released his latest feature film "That One Summer" that is being distributed worldwide by KOAN, Inc., of Park City, Utah. Brauer and his staff continue to produce commercial and educational projects from their home base in Traverse City, Michigan.
