He scored his first major career coup as neurotic fireman Pete Dunville on the popular ABC sitcom Two Guys, A Girl and A Pizza Place in 1998 (later renamed Two Guys and a Girl), but decided -- as that program drew to a close in 2001 -- to dramatically extend himself beyond the confines of sitcoms, initially with a lead portrayal of openly gay Special Ed instructor Tom in director Julie Davis' offbeat romantic comedy feature All Over the Guy (2001).
