Born in Chicago, IL, and raised in Canada, Allman received his education at the Los Angeles Conservatory of Music before kicking off a singing career with the Royal National Guard during World War II. Rising to fame with such tunes as "A Quiet Kind of Love" and "Patapan," Allman kept busy in front of the cameras with roles in both television and film. With over 150 acting credits to his name, Allman appeared on film in All the President's Men (1976) and In Cold Blood (1967), and on the small screen in The Twilight Zone and Batman.
