NOTE THAT VERY FEW OF THE SKINS ON THE SITE ARE MADE BY FLIXSTER - MOST ARE MADE BY USERS LIKE YOU. SO THIS IS A PLACE TO DISCUSS WHAT YOU ARE MAKING OR WOULD LIKE SOMEONE TO MAKE.
Questions among artists for each other about skins or tips and ideas for making skins are also fair game for this thread - hopefully this can be a central place to discuss all the cool new skins being added.

And mohad, you can't see it until Joe uploads it (if he decides it makes the cut.) As for a screenshot, I can only take them while I'm still submitting the skin because there is a preview window before you click okay so you can see the finished product (instead of the various pieces).
As far as I know,t here is no way to edit the skin once you click okay, so I can't take a screenshot of it.
And for when JackMeHoff comes on here demanding a Rocky skin (which I know he will) - I am already onto it. Mainly because I want it as well ^_^
I was also thinking of doing a Star Wars one, but I'm leaving that to Drew for sure.
Well it looks like Eugene has been looking at my skins judging from his posts on my talk board, it looks good - his critique is excellent and I'm happy to oblidge his suggestions (especially since I've just been whipping all of these out as fast as I can without much attention to detail so I forget stuff alot or the quality suffers.)
Good stuff, shows they aren't gonna let any crap skins up onto flixster. Anyways, apparently they are going to make 'artist' pages of skins for people like... well, me. So that'll be cool.
Soz for replying so late BlueFalcon,I didn't realise there would be so much posts. May'be if you could use the image of Jules and Vincent pointing the guns after they shoot the guy from the bathroom as the main pic for the Pulp Fiction one. Any other pictures will do thanks.
hey falcon..i know you guys are like totally busy with all of your requests and i know you are working on a superman one...but i was thinking it would be cool if you guys made a smallville one :D i don't care what pics you use i just thought it would be cool. tell me what you think?
Ok, I'll give it a shot. I'm planning on making some plain ones first to get my feet wet.
To be honest, I don't really like any of the available skins so far (as of 8/10). I think they're really obtrusive and cluttery and make the text difficult to read. I'm stinking with the default one unit I see the masterpieces you guys have created!
Hehe, we can hope they're masterpieces, so far I'm sticking with white for the background so that the text stands out more. I just finished watching Rebel Without a Cause not long ago and felt compelled to make a James Dean one.
Ok, I just made a blue gradient skin. It looks okay I think. I need to hone my skills a bit, but a Star Wars skin may not be far off.
I don't like the preview and edit though. I made a mistake on the footer, changed it and reloaded it. When I went back to preview again, it hadn't changed. I remember you saying something about deleting my cookies, so I did that and then I got signed out and hed to re- submit all over again. Now it says someone is already using my skin's name. This is kind of annoying. Any thoughts?
What you have to do is before you hit the 'preview changes' button is delete your temporary internet files (cache if you are using firefox like everyone should do :P). Then it'll show up properly.
WARNING!!! Do not hit the back/forward buttons, or clsoe your browser window. Once you do, you will not be able to edit your skin, and if you try to resubmit it, it says the name will already be taken. You'll have to resubmit it all over again under a different name.
Haha, noob skin sounds great Falcon. And damn it JackMeHoff, I made a post in this thread saying that I am making a Rocky one because I knew you'd ask. Looks like I was right ;)
Oh, and by the way, I made a James Dean one last night too, looks pretty snazzy.
