Wait why do you want people to convince you that your opinion is wrong, if that the way you feel about anime fine. I dont see why you want other people to change your mind for you.

well i will persuade you if others won't, maybe you are watching the wrong type of anime, when i started i hated it, i was watching bleach and DBZ which i hated, but then i found Love Hina and Chobits which are brilliant romantic comedy with some adult humor, and now i am going to try and get into some actiony adventure types of anime.
I didn't care for it much myself at first, Then I saw Perfect Blue. If Walt Disney & Alfred Hitchcock got together & made a movie, it would be Perfect Blue.
my lil cuz made me frist watch anime and he made me watch pokemon...... which now im not a big fan of it lol but the first 1s i saw was gundam seed and fullmetal alchemist their such the best! but ill say watch spirit away about 4 times seen thats how long it took me lol after the 1st time i walked away half way tho lol but now i love it ^^ and watch tsubasa chronicles and inuyasha(but it ends bad) but if they dnt get u in it watch chobits hhehehehehe ^^
ok, ok. i don really care if u don like anime, but if u wanna give it a shot, try somethin like the beginning of the inuyasha serie, depending on ur sense of humor. and if ur really civilized like u say u r, try naruto. i kno the beginning is a little slow, but if u really wanna try, get into it. unless of course u have no sense of humour or a sense of understanding, or if u don have that strange thing called an imagination.
not liking anime is ur personal prefrence backed by personal reasoning. perhaps if i knew that reasoning i could prove u wrong, or change ur mind.
u seem like a real person who can speak sensibly and intelligently. so for u, id say, no pokemon, no dbz, no naruto. none of that kiddy crap. but it depends on what you like. theres somethin 4 everyone. if you like soap operas, there something for that. also if you llike action, adventure, menace, mecha, romance comedies, love, real life, drama, just about every genre i know of, and then some. there are those that ud have to be into a certain sport or instrument of hobbie to appreciate. but it is fun and entertaining. theres always something more mature if thats what ur looking for. some of the most unlikely people watch anime, and are proud of it. i dont know why anime and manga are such taboo subjects.
there are some really adult manga, i don't mean hentai for the boys either. some really deep story lines that plunge into ur heart im sure any anime fan knows what im on about! xx
it seems as if everbody else has already givin you advise on why you should or should not like manga or anime but i must insist that you watch several genres before you decide you hate it.i was fotunate enough to start out with some that i enjoyed i hope that you can overcome your dislike for it and find some small pleasure in it.
If you hate anime so, then why create a forum for people to change your mind? doesn't that seem, i don't know, idiotic? I'm not going to change your mind, if you hate it i really couldn't care less, what i will ask is why are you trying to get people to turn you? Maybe you're lying to yourself. I think your inner sub-concious is a killer anime fan and you can't stand that. Tee hee! Either way, I don't care what you think, i like anime, it has all the required components for entertainment, for me anyway. But its okay, we'll leave you to sit and play in your own little bubble.
