I LOVE Saw films. I don't think they are scary, but they have the suspense and the story. I would think Saw is good to be called a thriller rather than a horror.
Not true. It's a matter of no other alternatives. There are very few good horror movies being made so people have to go see what's available regardless of its quality. If crap is what you are accoustomed to seeing, then less crappy becomes good.
Personally I hated Saw. Don't see what anyone likes about it at all.
i dont really know what a REAL horror film is but think i dont want to know if you say that Saw isnt a horror film. i scare and creep out easily so i dont watch a lot of those movies.
I used to love horror when I was younger probably because I wasn't supposed to be watching it... The only thing I like now is Saw because it is intellectual horror. The Grudge is crap even though I love Sarah Michelle Gellar
Yeah I know the old horror movies are classics, and I like the newer movies that call themselves horror movies, but they aren't sad to say. There has been few movies that have been made recently that I think can even remotly call themselves a true horror movie.
Halloween, Friday the 13th, Hellraiser, Nightmare on Elm Street, Poltergiest, The Exorsist, Night of the Living Dead...all horror movies, even Gremlins can be considered somewhat of a horror movie.
Saw was good, The Grudge sucked(Sarah Michelle Gellar was nice), The Ring I didn't like at first but I watched it again...not scarey but I liked the story.
None of these new movies have any scare factor at all, guts and gore are nice, but without the creepy(not nessicarily scarey)thing that the old ones had it's just not measuable, and the suspence has kinda died out too.
But new genre and old genre of horror has it's ups and downs.
dunno what the phrase...real horror means....anybody seen WOLF CREEK? done in a realistic manner...not stylistic, but ppl behaving u eel normal ppl would in that situation...so i class that as real horor
i do enjoy the asian horrors...but they r not strictly horror......
The Grudge and The Ring sucked balls.
i remember The Thing. isnt that more of a sci-fi than horror??? but that was a good one too.
i like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies..well, the 1974 and remakes. the 2nd was soooo bad i didnt want to finish it! XP
the only movie that did scare me would be The Omen.
little anti-christ bastard!
