Has anyone else seen this movie? It's one of those movies that didn't get much attention, but it's really good.
I watched this movie and i must say, Hillary Swank has never been better.. she was so natural and so was the chemistry between her and the students...
all i can say about this movieis :Wow! What a movie!
I was in tears most of the time. Very, very intense movie. It was great! I didn't realize it was based on a true story and that made the whole point of the movie even better.
I recommend this to everyone. A must see especially if you relate to it in any way shape or form. I think it shines hope on disadvantaged youth and great encouragement to defy all obstacles! H
Hillary Swank is a good actress, and her ability to pull off the role was impressive. Her performance, and star power added to the films overall appeal.
Fine, I'll give it to you, It's a profound script. "Idealistic teacher with her own personal struggles finds salvation by imparting wisdom to troubled teens" I'm all for it.
However, it's a formula that's been done and done before, some better than others. There was no palpable distinction between this one and the films that came before it.
See: Dangerous Minds, Stand and Deliver, The Substitute, and even Sister Act had some of the same plot lines.
