Sweeney Todd to me is a touching love story. It may not seem like it in the trailers but it is about a man who is crying to see his dead wife and will kill for her. And while trying to do that something cracks inside of him and he goes on a killing rampage. Johnny Depp and Helena Bohnem Carter are the perfect odd couple for this movie and Tim Burtin really makes the movie fit. The dull colors and the bright colors (in certian places) make the movie have a vibe that tells you what's gonna be in it. You don't even think of this movie as a musical when watching it because the performances don't hint that it's just let's all break into dancing and singing type of movie! I think this is the perfect movie for any time, with boyfriend/girlfriend, or even with your parents.
the best HORROR/SCARY film i've seen over the last few years is a spanish film called REC.this film was gory,intense,masterfully cheoreographed and with thrills and spills at every turn...this film will certainly get your hearts racing!!!!forget the U.S. remakes look closer to home as europe seem to be producing some awesome films but the masters of this genre you have to return to the east and japan!!!
