It was amazing. It turned out much differently than I thought it would. It also felt like the sequal to Batman Begins and also a completely new Batman.
I watched it...again but on IMAX and man the vibe is way better than an average theater. And holy shit good mother of God Heath Ledger's performance gets better and better every time you watch it.
The moment he stuck his head out a cop car I knew immediately that he's the best movie villain ever. Well not THE best but he's up there with Hannibal and John Doe.
I've only seen it the once so I'm holding judgement for the moment but I might have to say ---- overhyped. It's probably a small dose of dissapointment after the insane marketing campaign, but the film let me down slightly. My hopes and expectations were very high, and for good reasoning, but there were several plot points that didn't gel and too much trundling of the same filming techniques (I think the soundtrack selection from about track 1 to track 3). In saying that, however, Heath's performance was on par with the word of mouth going around - he was extraordinary.
I'll see it again on Tuesday to completely decide, but it's not the 5 star "crime drama" film that it's been cracked up to be.
Is it just me or for it to get number 1 on the imdb, loads of people have just voted 10 for the sake of it and NOT seeing the film, clearly this is bias.

And why would you think that they did not see it and just voted? Personally I feel that the film was BETTER than I had hoped for after seeing it.
