Nevermind that several books of the Bible were cut because they questioned Jesus' divinity... nevermind that there was only a resurrection story because it was popular in other religions.
I assume this is in the Book of Mormon, since I was taught it, but there was a story where the "righteous" tribe was going to be attacked by the "evil" tribe, and so they sent all the women to the front lines to beg for everyone's lives.
I can think of SOOOOO many things wrong with that.
I'll list some! :D
1. It's cowardice
2. It's manipulative of the other side
3. It's manipulative of women
4. It could have failed, setting the women up to be killed first
5. It shows women as the weaker sex
I know the feeling. I live in the 95% Mormon area, and even when they're not directly telling you stuff, they're talking about it nonstop to others, and you just have to sit quietly, and be polite when they ask you why you don't go to church functions and "when" you're taking LDS seminary and all that.
And you end up realizing that everyone is Mormon, and even your teachers can't hide it.
And you wonder why, and how they can believe it, but you're not going to try and start any fights so you'll never know.
My cousin got mad at me for saying 'oh my god' once which wasn't a lot like her but she now swears soo much more than I do. :/ And is probably more anti-religious.
A lot of Christians are. Like how the Mormon standards of modesty are to the knees, and girls still go to church in miniskirts. Now that's not even subtle!
After 1,500 years the Vatican has brought the seven deadly sins up to date by adding seven new ones for the age of globalization. The list, published yesterday in L’Osservatore Romano, the Vatican newspaper, came as the Pope deplored the “decreasing sense of sin” in today’s “secularized world” and the falling numbers of Roman Catholics going to confession.
The new deadly sins include polluting, genetic engineering, being obscenely rich, drug dealing, abortion, pedophilia and causing social injustice.
