I saw the remake of the first one last October which was called Quarantine. It had Dexter's Jennifer Carpenter as the lead role and That film really was scary if you ask me. The whole Cloverfield meets 28 Days later surely worked. Seeing from this new trailer the film looks pretty good. If it's a success over there then maybe an americanized remake could be made.
I still have to see Rec and compare if that is better then the remake
Quarantine sucked and to think that I saw it first but I kind of preferred the Spanish version. Not that there's any difference but the mood and tone of Rec just hit the mark for me. All I saw from Quarantine was Jennifer Carpenter screaming like a banshee for the whole duration of the movie.
oh and Rec 2's trailer looks awesome. Cannot wait to see it.
Yeah if [REC]2 does well overseas I really hope they bring the ORIGINAL home, I would rather see the original in theaters than a remake...Quarantine was a legit remake probably the best horror remake in 10 years, but [REC] felt more intense and real to me.
