I just have seen this movie trailer now and it was a wonderful movie upcoming as I have heard this movie features of Adam Sandler and he was so clever on making humor free movies we have seen this movie trailer to day and it was a high quality trailer so will be the movie too. It was fine movie experience for comedy movie fans for sure
Was so good, much better than Bruno. Adam Sandler has shown his potential to act in Punch Drunk Love and Reign Over Me...its about time he did a legit comedy.
This movie was well made, well written and well acted. Sandler and Rogen were great on screen together as well as Leslie Mann, Jonah Hill and the rest of the supporting cast were able to add comedic moments to lighten up the film at times.
Probably the best comedy of 2009 and probably one of the best in recent years.
A little long and drawn out at times, but it actually tells a story.
I thought the ending was weak. If not for that, it would have been a very good film.I've said exactly what JcrobCrim did above: Punch Drunk Love is my favorite Sandler movie.
I don't mind Adam Sandler my favourite of his is Big Daddy and I like Seth Rogen acting in many films such as Superbad so I'm looking forward in seeing this one.I really need to see it.
It's almost like a drama, about comedians. If you've gone in expecting to laugh uncontrollably, then you were probably disappointed, as was I. But when I saw it again, at home, I found it was a good story about what goes on behind the scenes with a top notch comedian, and someone who wants to make it in the business. It's probably close to what Adam Sandler is like in real life, and what he would do in this situation.
A lot of people thought the same thing, Ladiva4. I thought they promoted it wrong. They showed all the funny parts in the previews, and it was misleading.
It wasnt misleading. You got way more then you were expecting. An excellent marketing scheme if you want my opinion. They knew comedy could drag the people to the theatre and then once you got there you were treated to an honest real life film. An awesome film
It absolutely was. It was billed as a Sandler/Rogan comedy, and although it was, it wasn't the type of movie people were expecting. I won't argue that it was good marketing, but when you throw Apatow and the other two's name around, people expect something else. Same as Cable Guy with Jim Carrey.
This movie is a vessel for some really insightful character drama and a potent study of the damage that fame can do to people. The performances are charismatic and interesting, and the script does a very nice job of structuring character transitions. The comedy doesn't work as well as the drama, but it's a funny enough movie that steers away from formula in an impressively self-aware way. I have heard the negative responses to this movie, and I can see where they are coming from, but I am a huge fan anyways. It's a smartly written, aptly played film, and it's worth a look for Sandler's outstanding work alone.
