I think his resume is the more important point, you know? He has done some really stellar performances in a range of genres–what more could you want? Not to mention he clearly put his all into transforming his body for the role! Plus, I’ve heard good things from the footage screened at D23, which I think speaks louder than any image.
Gyllenhaal I think will do well in this film and I think he will suit the role. Well he suits most roles he did well in the day after tomorrow,donnie darko and Brokeback Mountain.
Sounds like your prediction about Jake is correct! I don’t know if you’ve seen this description of the trailer, but it sounds like A. Gyllenhaal nailed the character and B. all the fight scenes from the game are done really well…excited to see that trailer for myself!
The trailer is online. Jake fits the build if you ask me. I think the footage shows that he can tackle the physical aspects of the role (did you see him jumping from one wall to the other???) and I like the banter between him and Gemma Arterton.
Yes, agreed that the teasing repartee between Gyllenhaal and Arterton just makes me laugh. The more I read about its progress the more I want to see it.
I can't wait to see this film when this comes out it may not be amazing but it looks decent enough and looks worth viewing.This film looks different to alot of other films and this is why I want to see this film pretty quickly.
oh this is awesome! i remember playing this on my computer YEARS ago. totally forgot about it. The movie looks pretty cool. Definitely going to see this one.
Behind the scenes footage just came out. I love how Jake is playing Dastan - mischievous and daring...the film also seems to have just the right amount of dark elements from the game.
