I wouldn't make a film about it
The first one was laughably bad (along with wailing, arm-flinging Willem Dafoe)
I urge everyone to see the documentary that came out of it called Overnight. Which is about Troy Duffy and his belligerent attitude that screwed up the film.
Ya probably shouldn't set my hopes too high. But, really if the creators stick to the same formula of off the wall action and odd ball comedic remarks, then that will do it for me. Primary cast is returning so half the work is done.
And really? The Director? Baby's out with the bath. If someone is doing a documentary on a film and starts pre-production you can bet, dollars to doughnuts, it's intent was to ruffle some feathers. All the hype around him was meant to cause controversy. The Guy started out as bouncer. So he didn't take well to the fame.
See how well you do with everyone mucking up your next creative process.
Maybe this one will give you nay-sayers legitimate gripes.
It's not that my problem with the film lies solely with the director (well, it partly is because he can't direct or write). The problem is that the film is hilariously BAD.
The documentary is not just about how ignorant and self-absorbing Troy Duffy is, but also how the film industry is. Therefore, the documentary is 100 times more interesting and entertaining than The Boondock Saints.
And I'm sorry, although it is a harsh business, Troy Duffy frankly had it coming and his incompetence was in part because of the turnaround. That's why, as a filmmaker, you have got to be prepared, you have got to be committed and you most certainly have to put your attitude to the side.
I'm all for cheering on the underdog, but to be fair, it was his mess.
But hey, the sequel might be Citizen Kane. Plus he has an undeserved cult to thank for his financial backing for this one, so considering how supposedly 'unlucky' he was, he is incredibly lucky for this film to even be recognised.
Most people seemed to of liked the first one but this second one doesn't seem to becoming as popular because hardly anyone as done reviews on this yet saying weather they liked it or not.
