Two five-year-old girls have allegedly been sexually assaulted by a boy their age at a southeast Queensland school.
One of the girl's mother has told Network Nine her daughter was sexually attacked more than once by a boy in a uni-sex toilet at a Gold Coast school identified by Education Queensland as Coomera Springs.
"I could not believe another five-year-old could do that," the mother told Network Nine.
Her identity has not been revealed.
Education Queensland said the principal at Coomera Springs State School had been notified of the two incidents and reported it to police.
In a statement, a spokesman for the department said the school had acted appropriately by contacting the right authorities.
"Given the age of the children involved, and in line with Education Queensland's responsibilities under child protection legislation, both the Queensland Police Service and the Department of Child Safety were contacted in relation to this matter," he said.
