Quantum of Solace (2008,  PG-13)
Quantum of Solace
A worthy sequel but it suffers from middle movie syndrome. Picking up from where the last movie left off, little more is explained before the movie ends with a tantalising hook for the next movie. Whereas before we were left pondering on who Mr White worked for, we now end up questioning who Mr Green worked for, still none the wiser about Mr White. Nevertheless the new Bond remains admirably cool, and there's plenty of impressive action sequences, if overly-edited, though the lack of humour is becoming more evident.

Casino Royale (2006,  PG-13)
Casino Royale
Wow! Bond is back, and cooler, darker and more serious than anything since the Connery-era. Gone are all the silly SFX, and cheesy jokes - back to basics with a sophisticated spy thriller that reveals the plot without halting the action; even the jokes are wittily placed, plus I loved the free running!
3
Die Another Day (2002,  PG-13)
Die Another Day
Anniversary Bond pays tribute to it's predecessors in subtle ways. Unconvincing action scenes, and piss poor SFX and editting, but it is Bond, and as fun as ever! And that Rosamund Pike ain't half-bad! ;-)
4
The World Is Not Enough (1999,  PG-13)
5
Tomorrow Never Dies (1997,  PG-13)
6
GoldenEye (1995,  PG-13)
7
Licence To Kill (1989,  PG)
Licence To Kill
Bond seeks vengeance on a drug lord who killed his friend - great story.
8
The Living Daylights (1987,  PG)
The Living Daylights
This Bond movie has it all, not only a great theme tune, a cool car, clever gadgets, and gripping action scenes but also a really quite absorbing complex plot. One of my favourites.
9
A View to a Kill (1985,  PG)
10
Octopussy (1983,  PG)
11
Never Say Never Again (1983,  PG)
Never Say Never Again
Breakaway Bond sees Connery return in an entertaining tounge-in-cheek version, with a classic 3D computer game!
12
For Your Eyes Only (1981,  PG)
For Your Eyes Only
I recently watched this movie again for the first time since I was a five year old. It has got to be the funniest of the Bond movies, by being so cheesy, but also as the definitive 80s movie - from the theme song to the computers it so neatly summed up that decade! The Mediterranean setting (mostly Corfu) together with the premise of Bond salvaging an ATAC computer from a sunken ship make for a promising start. But the plot is rather weak and the edit drags on, despite fitting in skiing, scuba diving, rock climbing and aerial escape scenes! It deserves a 7, but I'm giving it a 9 for sheer nostalgia value!
13
Moonraker (1979,  PG)
14
The Spy Who Loved Me (1977,  PG)
The Spy Who Loved Me
A classic skiing opener and the best movie car of all-time - the Lotus submarine!
15
The Man with the Golden Gun (1974,  PG)
The Man with the Golden Gun
Scaramanga as the uber-villian, Nick Nack as the smallest ever henchman, coupled with the broken-bridge car jump scene ("I sure am, boy!") makes for the most memorable Bond of the era!
16
Live and Let Die (1973,  PG)
17
Diamonds Are Forever (1971,  PG)
18
On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969,  PG)
19
Casino Royale (1967,  G)
Casino Royale
1960s spoof of the Bond series, should be good, but the Carry-On style humour just doesn't work for me.
20
You Only Live Twice (1967,  PG)
You Only Live Twice
The first overly fantastic bond, with a space-age plot, Ken's autogyro (Little Nellie), and the classic Volcano lair - the most spoofable Bond ever!
21
Thunderball (1965,  PG)
22
Goldfinger (1964,  PG)
Goldfinger
The quintessential Bond movie of the Sean Connery era with "Pussy Galore" and that classic quote "Do you expect me to talk? No Mr. Bond, I expect you to die!"
23
From Russia With Love (1964,  PG)
24
Dr. No (1962,  PG)
Dr. No
The first Bond has all the key elements there from the start, only it's just not quite so polished. The witty remarks aren't so witty and the pace not quite so exciting.
