Forrest Gump (1994, PG-13)
A low-intelligence man tells his life's tale to people waiting at a small town bus stop. The film chronicles his accidental experiences with some of the most important people and events in America from the late 1950's through the 1970's including a meeting with Elvis Presley, JFK, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, fighting in Vietnam, etc. |

Braveheart (1995, R)
If you are a Mel Gibson fan of any sorts this movie is a must see. A wonderful directing job, supported by a wonderful cast. Men will appreciate the attitude depicted by Mel Gibson towards his love and his country along with the added violence. Women will swoon and pine for the hopeless romantic they will find in Mel as he avenges the death of his wife and fights for the freedom of his fellow countrymen. This movie gave me a whole new respect for Mel as a director and actor. In my opinion it is the best movie Mel has made to date. |

The Shawshank Redemption (1994, R)
The Shawshank Redemption is without a doubt one of the most brilliant movies I have ever seen. The life of Andy Dufresne changes when he is convicted and jailed for the murder of his wife.Set in the 1940's, the film shows how Andy, with the help of his friend Red, the prison entrepreneur, turns out to be a most unconventional prisoner. |

Scarface (1983, R)
In 1980 Miami, a determined Cuban immigrant takes over a drug empire while succumbing to greed. what can i say Pacino gives an amazing performance that is both comic and tragic in this remake of the 1932 classic about corruption in America. Pacino's character wants the world and everything in it. That's what he gets. We are reminded to beware of what we wish for. on my list of Best movies i own ( look at all my list ) |

Requiem for a Dream (2000, R)
Plot Outline: The hopes and dreams of four ambitious people are shattered when their drug addictions begin spiraling out of control. Watching the addicts spiral out of control, we bear witness to the dirtiest, ugliest portions of the underworld addicts reside in. It is shocking and eye-opening but demands to be seen by both addicts and non-addicts alike. |

Natural Born Killers (1994, NC-17)
I recommend this to fans of Stone, of the movies I mentioned above, of Tarantino (he didn't approve, but as a fan of his, I did), and to anyone who is simply curious about it. It'll blow you away, in the good sense. |

Armageddon (1998, PG-13)
O.K. Whether you like it or not, you can't disregard Armageddon. That it's not scientifically appropriate, that the plot has weak points etc. BUT SO WHAT???? Film making is an art form and you can't question the artist if there are people worth $600 million of box office, willing to see the movie. You can not tell the film maker how to make a movie. Armageddon was made to attract people's attention and it succeeds in it. You can't deny that..Yes. I accept every bad word told about the movie. |
|
| 13 |
Independence Day (1996, PG-13)
I enjoyed this movie, sure it isn't the most original movie ever made or the best, but it was what it set out to be...which is a combo alien attack movie of the 50's plus an all-star disaster movie of the 70's. A lot of critics don't like this one and a lot of people who think of themselves as critics don't care much for it either, but it still brought in over 300 million at the box office in the summer of 96. I thought it was an entertaining film with lots of action and a good dose of comedy as well. |

A Christmas Story (1983, PG)
"A Christmas Story" is a rare film about children yet for adults. While kids will definitely enjoy this Christmas-themed saga, adults will find a deeper level of depth than they may remember from seeing the film at a younger age.as i like it alot more now hat im older .Worth watching every Christmas, forever! |

Donnie Darko (2001, R)
Donnie Darko is a type of movie that provides any viewer a type of material that promotes hard thinking and even harder re-thinking. After the film ends, it's almost impossible to keep yourself from thinking of all the possible way to interpret such a film. It's not quite surreal or full of quirky nonsense, it's more like a set of events, which seem to make sense on one level, no sense on another level, and finally perfect sense on another level. The movie acts as an illusion to what's really going on, its almost pleasantly distracting. |

Top Gun (1986, PG)
It is impossible to describe Top Gun, what is there to say? It is a perfect fun film. The characters are like no other and the soundtrack is probably the most appropriate accompaniment to a film in history. It is not the best film ever made, but its fun and should be a part of any DVD collection. |

The Usual Suspects (1995, R)
DISCLAIMER: Not seen 'The Usual Suspects' yet? Then don't waste any time reading this! Rent it, buy it, borrow it, I don't mind, but watch it before you bother reading any further.and if you have seen you no how good it is you dont need me you tell you .lol. |

| 36 |
Toy Story (1995, G)
Overall this is a classic film that will appeal to adults as much as to kids (if not more). A good plot and a really sharp script make the already short running time fly by. The only downside is that your kids will want you to go out and buy the damn things! |
|

Seven (Se7en) (1995, R)
A film about two homicide detectives' desperate hunt for a serial killer who justifies his crimes as absolution for the world's ignorance of the Seven Deadly Sins. |

| 38 |
Kids (1995, NC-17)
Larry Clark has broken the boundaries with this film. Not only is it one of the realist depictions of our nation's youth, but it also brings the fear of the AIDS virus closer to home. This is not a piece of fictitious work, this is brutal honesty in its rawest form. While many will knock this film because of the pornographic nature, I saw past that and witnessed the birth of the next plague. Writer Harmony Korine has taken the world of our children and transferred it to the big screen. I never once saw this as a shock film or disgusting, I saw honesty and truth behind every scene. This is really what is happening in our backyards. Kids are not as young as they used to be, and are growing up in a world with more possibilities and distractions than ever before. This is the modern world, and these are the newest leaders. |

Taxi Driver (1976, R)
Taxi Driver is one of the best films ever made. This is one of those films that you do not get tired of seeing and every time you watch it you realize a little detail that you have not seen before. Excellent actors, a good director, an impressive soundtrack and a real story are the main appeals of this film. |

Twelve Monkeys (12 Monkeys) (1995, R)
A brilliant movie. One of the very best science fiction movies of the 1990s, and one or Terry Gilliam's greatest achievements.A convict, sent back in time to stop a devastating plague, is sent too far back and is hospitalized as insane. |
|
| 42 |
Rain Man (1988, R)
The directing was unobtrusive and beautiful, for the most part just letting the action unfold, which is exactly the way it should have been done. It's a feel-good movie that does that and more, and I think nothing I've seen in the movies is as touching as the scene in the motel where Charlie discovers who "Rain Man" really is. I give this movie a 10 out of 10. Absolutely wonderful. |

Kill Bill: Volume 1 (2003, R)
Yes, the movie is in two volumes. However, the end feels right, coming after an epic battle that puts `Reloaded's `Burly Brawl' to shame. `Kill Bill' is a testament to Tarantino's ability to take the craft of his idols and make it his own, mixing classic cult film style and mixing it with his own wicked sense of Cool. Not for the faint of heart or anyone looking for a `feel-good' film, |

O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000, PG-13)
The Coen Brothers have truly outdone themselves in this wonderful saga of three escaped convicts. Though it is based on "The Odyssey," the ancient work of Homer, you do not have to have read "The Odyssey" to be able to follow the story. The brothers Coen have woven a tapestry of celluloid and aural delights! The soundtrack is intrinsic to the film, indeed it is as though the soundtrack is the product and the film is wrapping paper. Each character is wonderfully exploited and harkens back to the days of old when films were rich with character actors whose very appearance in the film adds richness, texture and authenticity. |

The Sixth Sense (1999, PG-13)
The Sixth Sense is more than simply a wondrous two hours What makes this film so wonderful we are treated to a wealth of emotion: fear, sadness, joy, confusion, and humor, each one a compliment to the other. Nominated for 6 Oscars Best Actor in a Supporting Role |

The Matrix (1999, R)
What is the Matrix? Well, one of the best films ever, for one thing... when I first heard about it, I expected just another sci-fi action thriller. Good and filled with insane stunts, but not terribly intelligent. |

American Beauty (1999, R)
It is a wonderful psychological drama, about depressed suburban father in a mid-life crisis, decides to turn his hectic life around after developing an infatuation for his daughter's attractive friend. Being John Malkovich (1999, R) |

Three Kings (1999, R)
'Three Kings' is a lot of different films in one terrific package. It shifts from genre and tone so many times without becoming too weird or un-serious that it is kind of brilliant. It shows the horror of the Gulf War, it can be very brutal, but it is also very funny, visually stunning and original. The plot shows a lot of different aspects of that war and therefore it becomes quite believable. |
|
| 74 |
The Blair Witch Project (1999, R) |
|
| 75 |
Magnolia (1999, R)
"Magnolia" is a film of great passion, wonderful directorial virtuosity and stunning acting. In an age when filmmakers are afraid to make films that are actually about something. P.T. Anderson made a film that is about the most important thing: simply living day to day with all the tragedies and frustrations that can happen in our lives. That he does it with an incredible energy and spirit and passion makes the film even more powerful. |

There's Something About Mary (1998, R)
This is a very funny movie with gags that work better than most moviemakers could. There's Something About Mary" is one of those movies that I heard a lot about but was able to shrug off. When it was released on video, I waited about three months before renting it. Afterwards, I realized waiting was my mistake.some of the most fun you can have watching a movie. It is two hours of comedy, great characters, some neat songs, and a truly charming story. It's one of my favorite movies |

Heat (1995, R)
Strong performances by Pacino and DeNiro (the scene of them sitting across the table from each other is possibly 5 of the most memorable minutes in film history). Excellent cinematography and perhaps the best gunfight (if not, one of the most intense) since Hard Boiled. More than worth the 3 or so hours. |

Casino (1995, R)
Casino has to be one of the most underrated films that Martin Scorsese directed in the nineties. The acting by the leads is good and the script is excellent. Robert Deniro gave an Oscar worthy performance and Joes Pesci is chilling yet funny again. Even Sharon Stone is good in this brilliant film |

The Lion King (1994, G) |
|
| 87 |
Clerks (1994, R) |
|
| 88 |
Hoop Dreams (1994, PG-13)This film simply exemplifies the reason why I hate most Oscar voters. This movie didn't even get a nomination for Documentary , and it was one of the most successful documentaries ever! This especially exhibits the encroachment of coaches, family and other parties when it comes to the well being of inner city kids, who just happen to be good basketball players. Considering the state of pro basketball now, this kind of shows how the downward cycle of basketball was seeking lower standards. Sometimes funny, often times sad and poignant, this film is easily one of the best documentaries of all time. |

"Pretty Woman" is a contemporary Hollywood fairy tale, a sweet romantic comedy, an innocent 'love story' in the middle of self-interest and agreement... It remains as an entertaining motion picture that had women calling out the delights of true love... |
