Okay, I've just re-watched it. It's still too long, and it's got as many subplots as The Lord of the Rings, but it's a kick-ass adventure movie, and one that's surprisingly touching given that it's about a giant Andy Serkis ape.

It must have been a really cool thing to make the movie that invented the PG-13 rating.

It's a spaghetti western AND a kung fu movie. That's just beyond awesome.

This is G.I. Joe kinda jumping the shark, going into the bizarre backstory of Cobra. But it still manages to kick ass.

Not-as-famous-as-he-should-be Billy Campbell. Before-she-was-famous Jennifer Connelly. Errol-Flynn-meets-Heinrich-Himmler Timothy Dalton. It's awesome.

I love space, and this movie is great for a kid who loves space.

Amazing. Goes so far beyond any martial arts film.

It's pretty twisted, but the writing's great, and Evan Rachel Wood does sinister really, really well. Oh, and James Woods is fantastic too.

John Carpenter's most under-appreciated film.
