If you have read the book and then watched this Movie, you ll think that it isn´t the same. I think the book is better, but you can´t realize all things in the book. This Movie dissapointed many Harrison Ford aswell Clancy Fans. I think
Reading the book before watching the Movie would help for those who are Clancy fans.
But I can assure you it has Action in it. For none Clancy fans.

The Sum of All Fears (2002,  PG-13)
The Sum of All Fears 5.0 Stars
I love this Movie, very true to the spirit of the book.

I heard that: Clancy wanted Affleck to play Ryan, so he re-wrote this to be a prequel of sorts. He used the underlying Premise of SOAF to go back in time, re-develop the character, and create more adventures.

Liloh Noticed
Liev Schreiber had a role that was similar to Splinter Cell, Sam Fisher. He really reminded Liloh of Sam Fisher in this Movie.

Quotes

Jack Ryan: I don't go on the, you know, missions, I just write reports for the CIA.
John Clark: Then write a report about it.

To enjoy this Movie you really have to read the book by Tom Clancy. It obviously goes into much more detail, explaining everything the movie covered with interesting facts n' figures thrown in.
But for none Books reading Fans
A great action movies that can be watched over and over. Especially when you are a Connery and Baldwin and Submarine movies Fan. You ll love it.

I would probably have liked this better if I had never read the book.
However There is a lot of action. And Sean Bean was convincing as an IRA terrorist.
