The Bad and the Beautiful (1953, Unrated)
Some classic filming here :) Entertaining and a good storyline about a movie-maker with the emotional dramas involved but a little hard to keep attention to at times. Some excellent scenes like the car going out of control and some beautiful shots of Lana. Would like to see it again when I have more of an attention span. |

How To Marry A Millionaire (1953, Unrated)
Lauren Bacall stood out to me in this comedic tale of 3 ladies who set out to find 3 very rich men to marry. Betty Grable and Marilyn Monroe were beautiful and played the part well, but I still am struggling to see Marilyn in a role where she doesn't come across as so flighty. I prefer Gentlemen Prefer Blondes in that regard! |

Limelight (1952, G)
Wow! this movie shocked and delighted me! :) Unfortunately about half way through i got a little annoyed with the overdrama of the leading lady, but still an excellent movie :D and very revealing of the deep side and intimate messages from such an excellent actor who can play the fool and emote so much without even needing to speak. (but in this one he does, it's one of the 7 talkies he made before he was kicked out of America!) Fantastic man! :) |
