Cinema Paradiso (Nuovo Cinema Paradiso) (1988,  R)
Cinema Paradiso (Nuovo Cinema Paradiso)
i've been for quite a while trying to watch this, now i finally did it, and i'm no way disapointed. its a really beautiful tribute to cinema, and to all the emotions and joy it produces in everyone who loves it.

Beetle Juice (Beetlejuice) (1988,  PG)
Beetle Juice (Beetlejuice)
never thought Keaton could pull up this kind of brilliant and funny acting. Burton, once again, didn't let me down, though this was one of his oldies, he can be so damn creative! the plot is both dark and funny, the characters have their own personality and goals, the extra characters (the ones in the Limbo) cracked me up, and the scenarios were simple but scary.

Powaqqatsi (1988,  G)
Powaqqatsi
the second part of the qatsi trilogy was not as good as Koyaanisqatsi (though i rate them equal), but still very different. a journey into developing countries and the struggle of their people for survival. they may be economicaly poor, but they're very rich in spirituality.

Time of the Gypsies (Dom za vesanje)
i had this film waiting to be seen long time ago after i got it, because i was unsure it would be that good, or maybe because it seemed very weird, but i gathered the courage and after the first 30mins i could no longer stop watching it. a very well done and touching film, sometimes funny, other times not so much. the soundtrack its pretty amazing aswel.

Alice (Neco z Alenky) (1988,  Unrated)
Alice (Neco z Alenky)
though a dark and grotesque adaptation of Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland", it is still a quite good movie, with a delightfull stop-motion piece of work.
added to this, without my aknowledge, there was a 6min short film, aswel by Svankmajer, 'glued' at the end of Alice (i don't know if it was supposed to be that way or not), called "Darkness, Light, Darkness". it shows how creative this master of stop-motion can be.

Mujeres al Borde de un Ataque de Nervios (Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown)
