Heathers (1988,  R)
Heathers
Hilarious black comedy! Many great lines throughout this movie. Winona Ryder is great in this movie along with Christian Slater. This is a classic teen movie although it is very different from the rest of the 80s teen comedies. Everyone should check this one out.

Do the Right Thing (1989,  R)
Do the Right Thing
This movie is very in your face when it comes to race relations. The movie takes place all in one day, has a great story, and is one of the most influential films ever.
3
sex, lies, and videotape (1989,  R)
4
Batman (1989,  PG-13)
Batman
The best Batman movie ever! Michael Keaton is so great, intense and with a subtle humor, and then Jack Nicholson is absolutely delicious as the Joker! I love this movie, i've seen it a million times.

Say Anything... (1989,  PG-13)

Great Balls of Fire! (1989,  PG-13)

This is a really good biography movie about Jerry Lee Lewis. The acting is especially good.
7
Back to the Future Part II (1989,  PG)
Back to the Future Part II
A fantastic and funny follow-up to the first movie. If you liked the first movie, you have to see the sequel.
8
Pet Sematary (1989,  R)
Pet Sematary
Stephen King is pretty cruel to kids, isn't he? The kid in this is so creepy, one of the craziest in the history of horror. I can't believe the main character in this movie, i mean, why did he think it was a good idea to bring everyone back from the dead after seeing how the cat went crazy from being resurrected?
9
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989,  PG-13)
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
Hilarious! A classic Christmas comedy that will be on TV every year, so check it out sometime.

An enjoyable movie with the two Coreys, and a good story, even if it is a little strange, it's fun.
12
Steel Magnolias (1989,  PG)
Steel Magnolias
A brilliant adaptation of the play. Good acting, story, characters, everything. It's a very dramatic, comedic, and sad movie, it makes me cry and laugh.
13
Roger & Me (1989,  R)
Roger & Me
The beginning of Moore's documentaries focuses on his hometown and on unemployment. This is one that is very relevant right now, so I recommend watching it.
14
Romero (1989,  PG-13)
Romero
Great movie based on a true story. Good acting, directing, etc. A must see for people who like dramatic real life stories.

This is a cool movie to check out, especially if you're a Weird Al fan, or if you love spoof movies. He does crazy spoofs of a lot of movies, and it's pretty funny.
20
See No Evil, Hear No Evil (1989,  R)
See No Evil, Hear No Evil
Hilarious story, although overplayed, I found the movie entertaining to watch. Plus, it's got Pryor and Wilder, and they still worked well together '89.
21
Stepfather 2 (1989,  R)
22
Fright Night Part 2 (1989,  R)
23
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989,  PG-13)

This movie will teach your preteen a lesson. Side note: it says you can watch this on flixster, but that's an older movie of the same name, not this movie!
25
Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989,  PG)
26
Little Monsters (1989,  PG)

entertaining enough to watch for a while, some funny scenes, but that's about it. It could have been better.
33
The Wizard (1989,  PG)
34
The Fly II (1989,  R)
The Fly II
An unneeded sequel just like many movies coming out today.
35
The January Man (1989,  R)
36
Under The Boardwalk (1989,  R)
Under The Boardwalk
This is a formulaic movie, no surprises. It's okay to watch only if there's nothing else to watch.
37
Teen Witch (1989,  PG-13)
38
Uncle Buck (1989,  PG)
39
Star Trek V - The Final Frontier (1989,  PG)
Star Trek V - The Final Frontier
Although there's an interesting plot, it is not executed well. Plus, there was no need for a star trek 5, they should have stopped at 4.
40
Police Academy 6 - City Under Siege (1989,  PG)
Police Academy 6 - City Under Siege
The sixth of the series just reuses the same jokes from the other police academy movies, few of which are still funny. The only thing that was good about this one was that no one knew who the bad guy was, so it at least had a mystery going for it.
41
Dead Bang (1989,  R)
Dead Bang
Oh, so boring!
42
When Harry Met Sally (1989,  R)
When Harry Met Sally
This is boring and long, why can't they just get together?! At the end I felt like: what was the point of watching that?
43
Harlem Nights (1989,  R)
44
Earth Girls Are Easy (1989,  PG)
Earth Girls Are Easy
Earth girls aren't just easy, they're stupid too, at least in this movie. who were they kidding with these aliens? Why were these great actors even in this movie?
