"You're a sick fuck, Fink."

so far, the best film made by the Coen brothers. and the funny thing is, i absolutely didn't get it... there's a thing i completely adore in their films, they don't use clichés. when you're thinking you're about to unravel something, by your own experience in watching films, you get completely surprised moments after, because what happens is really unexpected, and sometimes out of context, not falling out of the story though, and thats so f*cking brilliant, in my opinion.

i loved the camera moves and all the surreal/strange elements through out the story. plus, had its funny moments, but not as briliant as i was expecting.

Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse
awesome view into the "making of" of one of the best films ever made, Apocalypse Now, and the struggle of Coppola to finish it, due to all the setbacks..

My Own Private Idaho
i didn't get the full idea of the film. it seemed somewhat confusing for me what van Sant wanted to prove, but i'm sure that after a rewatch i might understand that better. as for the rest, the acting was just superb, with a much younger and still talented Keanu Reeves, and River Phoenix, whose soul may rest in peace, would surely become one of the best acting stars for nowadays. also, loved the really spectacular outdoor shots, a signature already quite known from van Sant.

Toto le Héros (Toto the Hero)
charming and strange film, with several aspects resembling Amélie. its worth a watch.

first of all, this five star rating is a general rating to the whole series, aswel as the review. secondly, its a magnificent study, more than anything else. more than the label of documentary or tv show. I saw the whole series, from when the subjects were still children, until they're 49, and I must say, its so damn interesting to see and reflect on how people, in general, evolve, wether mentally or physically. Its also briliant because it provides a comparison basis to the viewers, as it did for me. Its no problem to be 7 and say you want to be an astronaut and prefer to play instead of thinking about girls, its no problem to be 21 and don't have a clue of what to do in the future. these are just some examples of some things that are all part of life and growing up, and this doc proves that quite well.
