Groundhog Day (1993,  PG)
Groundhog Day
bill murrey on top form here, reliving the same day over and over, i like the structure to this as there really isntone at least not a conventional one, just when you think its going all formula, due to the circumstances, your right at the start again, and then maybe the end, then back to the middle again, thats great, yes it all pans out in the end, but getting there is fun

What's Eating Gilbert Grape (1993,  PG-13)
What's Eating Gilbert Grape

Dazed and Confused (1993,  R)
Dazed and Confused
mathew mcConaughey, ben afleck, adam goldberg, parker posey, milla jovovich, are seen in very early roles here, showcasing there talent at a younger age, in richard linkleters love letter to 1970s austin texas, and a look at the last day of high chool, and eventual night full of partying that will go on, we follow the young freshmans atempts to stop from getting hit with a bat, by the older students, a tradion that goes on, there various atempts at escape and eventual capture is boh funny and cruel to watch, and the older guys and girls as they parade around the town just chilling and hanging out, looking for the next party or musing over there future, all charactors weave in and out of each others lives during the night, and is fun keeping up with storys, the time period looks great, and soundtrack is superb, of all the up and comers in film, rory cochrane was great as his stoner charactor, high all the time, and saying some mad things, and very iconic in his long hair and hat, afleck as bully looking for kidsto hit is also superb, playing a arsevhole wery well, and mcconaughey playing a much older wannabe high school drop out football player reliving his youth shows he can pull something off when hes not doing the stuff hes now doing, you could argue this is similer to george lucas,s american graffity, but manages to be quite diferent, with before sunrise this is linkleters best film, and a film perhaps because of setting asent aged since its 1993, release

True Romance (1993,  R)
True Romance
written and sold by tarentino, before he made reservoir dogs, and he says his most personal script hes written, directed by tony scott, bringing in his usuall but great, smoke filled widescreen look, slater and arquette are great as two people brought together, and end up, falling in love, but arquettes former pimp, a superb gary oldman wants her back, when a meting between him and slaters clarence goes horribly wrong, he mistakes a suitcase for alabamas clothes, but is in fact a case full of coke, they get out of detrout and off to L.A where a deal to sell might be set up, but the coke is a property of mob boss christophret walkin, in one scene probely up there with best of al time, having showdown with clarence father, played by dennis hopper, so with the mob tracking them down to L.A. cops in on the action, after a bust, what could go wrong, this film is superb, tarentinos dialogue we all know, is present, a great cast, val kilmer turns up as a fantasy elvis, a younger james gandolphini, years before hitting bg with the sopranoes, and a really graet small role for brad pitt, so funny as a stoner living in clarences best mates apartment,, check his doped up conversation with gandolphini, theres some great action on show also, a brutal attack between gandolphini and arquette, and a showdown where every major charactor seems to show up for a stand off, tarentino was once asked, when are you gonna do a romance, well he answered, this is my romance, true romance is not a ironic title, it is what it is,
