1998 best off the year

jason schwartzman srars as max fischer, a rebellious but gifted teenager going to a very privoliged private school, who spends his days putting on plays, starting up clubs, editors of school papers and many other things, but being expelled, hangs over him daily. when new teacher miss cross arrives, played by olivier williams, he falls for her, while at the same time strikes up friendship withmr, blume, played by bill murrey, who also falls in love with miss bloom, a great teen film, exellent performances all round, schwarzman, is superb, annoying but you care, murrey, great in these roles, williams, and of course brian cox, as the head master, great visuals, and a amazine soundtrack from the likes of the who, and many other 70s bands, a teen film for grown ups, most definatly

jim carrey is trumun burbank, living his life as he sees it, stuck in this small town, but unknown to him, its a state of the art set, and a tv show beamed all over the world his entire life, but events in present and a women he loved from past playing on his mind, things could be coming to a end as he suspects something is up,
this film is so original, and it works, events are written in such a way, that you believe hed be stuck in this town and not suspect, after all there are writers and producers watchingt his every move and ready for any ocasion, carrey as trumun is really fine, not his pet detective charactor, thank god, moore of a rained in carrey, and trumun is a inocent guy living his life, and i buy carrey as that. film goes along nicely doesent out stay its welcome, some great moments, especially set to music, a creepy turn from ed harris as the creator of it all, and the film brings up interesting points, and also came along before big brother was around, if this film came out this year, wed probely get a moan and people saying things aboout being big brother and any other show like that, but in 1998, it was quite a concept, great ending too, for me it crys out follow up as it be interesting to see trumun as a celebrity on outside world and experiencing it, rather than inside and not, i guess a film thell never make

a great comeback for soderdberg after spending 90s in wilderness, and a partnership with clooney formed, and jenifer lopez never better, although thats not saying much, but i really predicted great things for her after seeing this, what went wrong, a great crime story from a elmore leornard novel, told in great style, casually paced, with great flashbacks helping story along, clooney, really is a great actor when he sets his mind to it,

love this film, and another reason why billy bob is a genius. 2 brothers and a mate find money and a abandond plane, after much debate they decide to keep it, but wait a while, so from this point we watch as the money and the thought of spending it plays on these guys mind, it doesent help when the friend is a loose cannon and needs money, so we watch as the three go about there life, and if events will catch up with them, a great drama here bill paxton getting a great main role, and hes very good, bridget fonda as his pregnant wife, who sort of takes over making decisions, is great, interestinly directed by sam raimi(evil dead spiderman) and shows a different side to his work, and watching billy bob create another charactor, is great, he loves his props, and a very pittyful charactor, and what happens at the end is heartbraking, the plot although slow paced, grabs you and with a nice change in the 3rd act, quite gripping, if you liked fargo, quite similer but oviously not as funny
