V for Vendetta (2006,  R)
V for Vendetta
"Voilą! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin van-guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it is my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V"

Did you count the V's? haha good stuff. What can be said about "V for Vendetta" I found it very thought provoking, so if you like a film that makes you think I urge you to give it a watch. And it was different for a change to have a hero who isn't a typical hero.

Magical and fun are good words for Shrek. Very hard to find fault with the film. Has a great story, (it's really good how they incorporate all those fairy tale characters) animation, soundtrack, everything. I've seen Shrek 2 and even though it probably has more characters and more story, Shrek 1 still is my favourite.

Shrek: Ogres are like onions.
Donkey: They stink?
Shrek: Yes. No.
Donkey: Oh, they make you cry.
Shrek: No.
Donkey: Oh, you leave em out in the sun, they get all brown, start sproutin' little white hairs.
Shrek: NO. Layers. Onions have layers. Ogres have layers. Onions have layers. You get it? We both have layers.
[sighs]
Donkey: Oh, you both have layers. Oh. You know, not everybody like onions. :D

All round fun all ages! Nothing really upsetting for a younger audience but very entertaining for an older audience too. Amazing animation with such attention to detail. Had a good pace to it, fast enough not to bore but not fast enough to lose you either. I did laugh many times. Only complaint was some of the voice work let it down for me.

The Lake House (2006,  PG)
The Lake House
If you're in a mood for an emotional romantic film this is wonderful to watch. Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves make a great pairing. I thought the script was really well written and the whole story very clever. The whole love will conquer all (including time) is a nice thought.
