Great modern film. extras are interesting too

beautiful

Its lack of narrative subtlety prohibits Crash being a truly great film; there are great performances and breathtakingly captured scenes, however, the scriptwriter's immense confidence, in an admittedly clever concept (however crudely executed), appears to be to blame for the contrived feeling of the resulting film.

The over simplistic narrative unnecessarily highlights the intentions of the filmmakers and makes it feel like a medium for crudely constructed and (somewhat paradoxically) vague ideology - which makes it hard to focus on the story rather than the story telling. Crash is based on a challenging concept that was sadly underdeveloped (resulting in a slightly heavy-handed and clichéd script) but otherwise very well made.

A very well constructed film. It's hard to see how this story could have been told in a better way. It does make you want to read 'In Cold Blood'

21st Century wizard of Oz - in a good way that is

There has been a lot of criticism of Elite Squad for being fascist. Such a perspective is disappointingly superficial. Too many critics have failed to distinguish the narrative perspective from the ideological perspective of the film. Although an admittedly reactionary and authoritarian BOPE member, Captain Nascimento, narrates it, the film?s primary criticisms are regarding low pay for police, systemic corruption, and, the middle class?s irresponsible consumption of drugs. As for any feeling that the brutal violence is justified that a viewer may be left with, this has more to do with the fact that in certain extreme circumstances desperate times call for desperate measures.

Elite Squad is an impressive and enjoyable film. It is well directed, well acted, and well worth watching.

Gonzalez's short is stunning. It is the best part of this collection which has a generally high standard. Well worth investing in

worth watching for Kevin Shields/ My Bloody Valentine alone. nice film

I expected to either love this film or be disappointed by it, I was neither. Nonetheless this is an impressive piece of well-made cinema. This film has sadly been overhyped, although, that said, i shall have fond memories of it.

well made but yearns for a better ending

Solid effrort. I'm was tempted to say that this is a great film because of all the people that don't like it - I think three and a half stars is fair.
