Stardust (2007,  PG-13)
Stardust 5.0 Stars
Fantastic! Loved the cast especially the 2 lead actors (Claire Daines is the sweetest thing)! Finally a decent movie made from the imagination of writer Neil Gaiman's fabulous novels. This had it all as it was thrilling, magical, funny and satisfying.

Brilliant! Great story wonderfully acted by all and directed. Totally makes you think about what's important in life and to live each day like its your last. Emile Hirsh was superb and visually it was a stuning movie too.

August Rush 5.0 Stars
This movie was so beautiful and heartwarming and wonderfully acted! Freddie Highmore is such a great little actor and I loved every single character in this and the music was great too. One of those rare feel good movies that works on so many angles. Brilliant!

Fantastic! Great cast, great story, great action and excellent directing. Very enjoyable and I wish there were more movies like it even if they are westerns which is not my favourite genre normally!

There Will Be Blood (2007,  R)
There Will Be Blood 4.5 Stars
Fantastic movie! Daniel Day-Lewis's performance is one of the best I have ever seen by an actor in the movies. The kids in it were great too and after a slow first quarter of the movie it totally engages you and the climax to the film is superb. For me it's the best quality movie of the year and should win the Oscar but it wont as Atonement will probably get it.

1408 (2007,  PG-13)
1408 4.5 Stars
Loved it! So creepy and great storyline too surprisingly. John Cusack was great and it's the kind of movie you would want to watch over in case you missed something the first time. I would love to see a franchise in these as long as the storylines were as sharp.

Very entertaining! Much better than I expected and very suspenseful. I could watch this again. It felt a little like Aliens meets Mission to Mars meets the Core or something. Surprisingly effective and I loved the very last image in the film!

Transformers (2007,  PG-13)

OK now this was entertainment! Great! Fun, excellent affects with an interesting and strangely feasable storyline. If only the long fighting scenes at the end were not quite as long it would have been perfect. A very pleasant surprise and my best movie of the year with 1408 so far!

The Mist (2007,  R)
The Mist 4.0 Stars
Enjoyable horror romp that started slowly but ended surprisingly with a horrible twist! I thought after seeing the tentacles when there was the first sign of trouble that this was going to be a stupid monster movie but I actually really enjoyed it in the end! Marcia Gay Harden was great as always and a real standout.

Excellent and very different animated treat of a film. Never boring and always interesting, funny and clever. Only the fact that it was mainly black and white and basic animation kept me from loving it although it did use clever lighting and editting. Great

The Simpsons Movie 3.5 Stars
Cute, funnny in parts. It's the Simpsons so of course it was good. Not enough Mr Burns and Smithers in it for me but it was still entertaining of course. Loved Spider Pig and the song to match it and also the end credits were funny.

Reaqlly good quality movie. Acting was superb and storyline good for the most part. Quite slow and boring in some parts however particularly towards the end and I wasn't a fan of the ending either. For the performances I rate it quite highly.
