Not seen the first one but i really enjoyed this,i think i would of liked it even more if i had of watched it at the cinema. Good storyline and visually stunning.
I have read really good reviews on this movie, its not the type of movie i would go to see at the cinema or rent on dvd but if it was shown on tv i would probably watch it.

The Crew is about British gangsters in Liverpool. Sadly this movie was not as good as i was expecting it to be. The characters were vile, not one of them was likeable and the lead hardman character Ged comes across like a pansy. Stephen Grahams* character was interesting and i thought he would of made the movie a good one but his character entered the movie too late on and offered very little. The storyline was weak and i felt like some random scenes were just thrown in for the sake of violence,i think it wanted to shock the viewer but instead it came across as needy and desperate. The acting was so-so. The cast were a bunch of meatheads(*with exception to SG). Clearly just another British gangster flick, just about watchable but it is quite boring in parts.
The trailer looks interesting and i do love Cate Blanchett but i am expecting to dislike this movie,it looks like the kind of movie i am always disappointed with.
Update - still want to watch this movie but it looks really sad.

I love fantasy movies but The Spiderwick Chronicles was a miss for me. Mostly i found it boring but a few others things ruined it for me too. I didnt like the actor Freddie Highmore, who played the twins, his acting skills are terrible and i get annoyed just by looking at him. Also the plot was nothing special but i think the most terrible thing about the movie was the small creature who resembled a short fat ugly old penis,Thimbletack,i detested him.
For the first 50 minutes i did nothing but complain about this movie,i kept saying that would not happen or it would not happen like that and i was pretty bored but then i got into it and enjoyed the rest of the movie. I particularly enjoyed the car chase scene which is something i do not normally enjoy. So if you can get past the slow start it turns out to be quite a decent movie.
This looks great,i love Cillian Murphy and the story sounds interesting plus i love geeks, they are hot!

Update - Really enjoyed this. I love Cillian Murphy,i think he is an amazing actor. Loved the characters and the storyline. There are some really funny moments too. A great movie for movie lovers. Its fun,its different and its one of the better rom-coms about at the moment. Its a love story for geeks, freaks and people a bit different from the norm.
10,000 B.C. looks and has the potential to be great but it was just boring. I felt like it failed to hit the spot, the story was average and nothing particularly interesting happened. There was no chemistry between the D'Leh and Evolet and every character was dull,no one seemed to have a personality. Overall i think i am being very kind giving this movie 2.5 stars.
Really want to see this movie now i have seen clips and read some excellent reviews on it.

Update - I found Slumdog Millionaire to be an average movie,i enjoyed it when the children were little but towards the end of the movie i became quite bored.
This looks loads better than the first two movies and i prefer Rhona Mitra as the lead female role. If i like this movie it will be the first Underworld movie i have actually enjoyed, the first two were quite boring but watchable.

Finally i enjoyed Underworld,yippee.
One of the best prequels i have ever seen. I especially liked the forbidden love between Sonja and Lucian and i loved all the hot lycans. Great special effects and i liked the whole feel of the movie, very dark and gothic. Rhona Mitra played the lead female vampire brilliantly, she was made for roles like this. I wish the other two movies had of been this good.
Wilderness is a watchable but average British horror/thriller movie. A group of young offenders are sent to a remote uninhabited island on a team building exercise. Once on the island they are hunted down and murdered by a trained killer and his pack of dogs, the killer is the father of a young offender who killed himself after being bullied by several of the other boys. The father wants revenge and this is the ideal place to get it.
What i did not like about the movie was the fact that the killer did not care about who he killed,if he had of just killed the bullies i think i would of enjoyed it a great deal more. There is plenty of blood, violence and gore but nothing creative,we have seen it all before infact many times.
I loved The Uninvited,i dont want to say too much about it because i dont want to ruin it for anyone who has not yet seen it but it will be going on my favorites list thats for sure.

This movie was so slow that i struggled to keep my eyes open.....torture. This movie was way too long, dull, not scary and it lacked logic. The first half is boring and the second half is stupid,it was still watchable though.
A simple looking movie that scared me stupid! I loved it. It was a fresh and exciting movie.
I think [Rec] worked really well because of how it was filmed,we dont really know whats happening which for me increased the appeal, even when the movies finished we are still none the wiser on a few things for example who was the boy in the penthouse and for me the not knowing also increases the fear factor. By the end of the movie i had to sit on my hands so i could not hide behind them. For 76 minutes i cut off from the real world and was happy to be sucked into this movie.
One of the best movie experiences i have had in a long time. [Rec] is the first movie to get 5 stars from me this year(2009).
Well done to [Rec] for making me truly scared, terrified and chilled to the bone.
An Unfinished Life is a beautiful movie about how a group of people cope with the death of a loved one a decade on. The acting was superb and there were great performances from Robert Redford,Morgan Freeman,Jennifer Lopez,Becca Gardner and Camryn Manheim. This is the type of movie Jennifer Lopez does well not the cheesy crap like Monster-In_Law or The Wedding Planner. The relationships formed through this movie are very touching. I must admit though that the star of the movie for me was the bear who was completely adorable.
Finally a Woody Allen movie that i have enjoyed! I have waited a long time for this. VIcky Christina Barcelona was a charming movie about friends, love and relationships. It was a love story with a difference, how refreshing. Barcelona looked beautiful,i really want to go on vacation there now.

Wow wow wow. This movie was amazing!
I am on a natural high from the excitement of watching it. One of the most entertaining movies i have seen in a long time, visually beautiful and stunning. The music was awesome and the costumes were to die for. The lead character Shiloh was adorable and Sarah Brightman was a gothic babe. Oh and do not forget the Graverobber,he was very easy on the eyes,a new Gothic heart throb for me to lust over. Loved the songs, loved the set. This movie was creative, arty and vibrant. I loved it. Wicked gothic fun.

I enjoyed Push,it reminded me of Jumper. I enjoyed Jumper too but after i had watched it i felt like something was missing,i hope i dont get this feeling from Push in a few days.
The story was interesting yet very simple and straight forward. Good visuals, the acting is okay and i liked how the movie was filmed. Not sure about Camilla Belle though,i think they could of found someone more suitable for the role,i dont think she pulled it off very good. I really hope there is going to be a sequel.
Well i cant remember the first one but i rated it one star. This one was almost as bad as the first one, very boring and the acting was terrible, also the storyline was flat.
Didnt fancy it,got hold of a copy for free so i watched it and it was amazing, reminded me of the kids movies that were about in the 80s. A movie full of secrets and darkness and quirky characters....excellent!
The Girl in the Park is a good solid drama about a little girl who goes missing whilst on a trip to the local park with her mother. I really enjoyed this movie but i did not like the ending HOWEVER if it had of ended the other way (you will know what i mean if you watch this movie)i dont think i would of liked that ending either. The only thing that bugged me about the movie was the older son was suppose to be in his mid-late twenties but the actor playing him was 35 at the time of filming and you could tell.
I had no desire to watch this movie BUT wow!!! It was amazing.
The Young Victoria is a beautiful movie. It was nice to see a young Queen Victoria for a change, usually tv shows and movies about her focus on the older Victoria. Emily Blunt shined in the leading role, she was perfect and the costumes were stunning. A great drama and a touching romance that showed us the chemistry between Victoria and Albert. I even had a little cry at the end because it was so touching.
Look out for Princess Beatrice who makes a brief appearance.
So far Bronson is my second biggest movie left down of 2009 (it gets 2nd place to Green Street 2),i was expecting a gritty violent British drama but what i got was a theatrical panto! Why was the movie made so arty and theatrical? It really did it no favours. Knowing nothing about Bronson the man i thought i was going to learn more about him from this movie but i feel like we never know his motivations, perhaps i should of skipped the movie and read one of the many books that have been written about him. My personal opinion is that someone should have another whack at doing a movie about Bronson,it needs a complete make over that would make it more real and factual. Feel bad for Tom Hardy because he clearly tried his best and its not his fault the movie sucked,i saw him in Martina Coles "The Take" a few weeks ago and he was amazing playing bad boy hard man Freddie. End verdict - a chance to make a great movie missed. End result - arty crappy panto.
I am not a fan of James Bond movies but i did manage to stay awake for most of this one so i score it 2 points which puts it on my Snoozefest list. This is a good score from me because Bond movies normally get 0.5 stars. However if this movie had a storyline i completely missed it or it went over my head.
I found this movie kind of lame,i laughed in parts when there was no need to and it had major flaws (a group of blind kids walking around things casually after they have robbed people and Julianne Moore could see so why didnt she just get in a car and drive everyone back to her house?) but i did enjoy watching it even if it was really miserable and bleak.
Blindness starts off slowly and takes what seems like forever to get in to. Nothing seems to make sense,on becoming blind the characters seem quite calm and are took to quarantine with no tests,no research,no doctors trying to find a cure. Halfway through the movie we suddenly get a narrator,Danny Glovers character,or was he there from the start and i just didnt notice? The screen frequently goes completely white and blank or black and blank, which gets really annoying after a while,by now i think we have got the point that everyone is blind.
After six hours(okay about 2 but it felt like 6)of watching this movie the ending is predictable and bland. I rate this movie 4/5,its good but not great, glad i checked it out.
I watched Rec and then the following night i watch Quarantine. Rec was much better,it is the best movie i have watched so far this year but i still enjoyed Quarantine. Quarantine had a longer running time than Rec so it dragged slightly and it annoyed me that they added a small dog just for the "small dog gets slaughtered" scene.
Average movie, played like it had been made for tv. Very predictable,i guessed why Able was angry within 10 minutes of watching Lakeview Terrace and i also guessed it would end the way it did. The characters were boring with no depth. The acting was very average and even the brilliant Samuel L. Jackson bored me in this movie.
Watchable if you are bored out of your head and you have nothing else to watch.
This movie looks great but my local cinema only showed it for a few days over Christmas and now they have took it off, damn them!
Update 2- yippee The Children is finally out on dvd.
Update 3 - It was worth the wait!
Yippee i finally got to watch The Children today with my husband and daughter,i watched the UK 18 version. It was amazing and gripping from start to finish,a good British movie. Hannah Tointon (Katie from Hollyoaks) plays the lead character Casey, one of the older children,i think she was suppose to be about 16/17. Caseys family joins her aunts family to stay for a few days to welcome in the New Year. One by one the children become poorly and turn into evil little killers who quickly turn on their parents and pets.
Overall the acting is excellent,Hanna Tointon is brilliant shes certainly improved since Hollyoaks and the smaller children are brilliant at being moody, spoilt, brattish and demonic. All the characters were believable and reminded me of people i know in real life especially the over protective middle class aunt(gold star charts, home schooling,my children would not behave like that attitude). The atmosphere was creepy and eerie and the visuals were stunning(blood and ice,the stunning country home set amongst the snow),it all worked well to create a feeling of doom and dread.

"The Haunting in Connecticut" is the supposed true story of a family,The Campbells, who move to Connecticut in 1987 so that they can live closer to their sick sons Matts hospital. Matt is being treated for cancer,he lives with his mum,his brother and his two cousins, his dad only comes home for the weekends. Shortly after moving into the home the family discover that it used to be a funeral parlor and also that seances had taken place in the house itself. Soon Matt begins to see spooky things but thinks it is a side effect of his cancer treatment.......that is until Matt sees a photo of a boy called Jonah.......a boy from his hallucinations. Matt tells his cousin Wendy (Amanda Crew) and together they start investigating the history of the house.
Horror wise it works, its very jumpy. Loved the black and white photos are the start and also the black and white images at the end. The story well i am not sure how much of it was true,i will have to look into this. Overall average.

Hard to write a review without giving anything away so i will keep it brief. I enjoyed it but it wasnt brilliant, the effects were good and the acting was okay. Sadly the ending was disappointing/slightly odd.
Watchable light hearted drama/comedy (not sure what it was meant to be really lol) set in the 1930s,the art deco sets are to die for. Amy Adams was great but overall the movie was nothing special.
I should of listened to HorrorChick27....From Within was not terrible but it wasnt good either,i didnt care at all really about the characters and the storyline was quite boring,i felt like shouting "So?" at my tv. Also another thing that bugged me was Elizabeth Rice did not look old enough to be playing the character Lindsay.

Martyrs was at the higher end of average, its watchable but if you dont get chance to watch it you are not missing much. With a few changes i think i would of easily rated this 4 or 4.5 stars but overall it failed with me for several reasons. Firstly the movie was trying to hard to impress and there is so much violence that it becomes boring very quickly. Secondly the first half of the movie is ten times better than the second half,it almost seemed like two seperate movies, one good, one not so good. The first half is fast paced, the second half drags. There were some good ideas but they just didnt work. Nothing is left to the imagination but the gore and violence just went straight over my head.
The acting is pretty awful,Justin Chatwin gets a big thumbs down. Its also quite boring and i forgot that James Marsters was in it,he must of been the mean green thing.
"I do not doubt it; he is a dreamer like yourself. You both dream of another world that does not exist, and never will."
The Duchess is one of the best period dramas i have ever seen. The characters and storyline are both very interesting and the costumes are to die for. The love story between G and Charles Grey was real and heartbreaking, whilst the relationship between G and her husband The Duke of Devonshire is cruel and twisted.
The Duchess was a pleasure to watch - the wealth, the locations, the gowns and the acting was great, the only bad thing about this movie was it made me cry and cry and cry. When it ended i felt very emotional and just sat there weeping.
This movie is an American movie but everything about it feels British, its bleak, grim and very realistic. Its a very clever movie although i guessed most of the plot right from the start. Its a very good ending (well good in some ways).
This movie certainly seems broken......its as if some scenes are missing and it ends with no real explanation. When i first saw this dvd at the rental store i thought it sounded interesting but it really isnt, every single scene is dragged out and when its finished you feel unsatisfied.
Difficult one to rate because it was not one of the most terrible movies i have ever seen but i was expecting it to be much better so the whole viewing experience was rubbish for me. Plus the acting was horrible.
This movie could share the title of another movie Thomas Turgoose was in - This Is England. The chav kids in this movie are the kind of kids that roam the streets of England everyday causing chaos and trouble, this movie is a good reflection of England in 2009 and the most disturbing thing about this movie is that unlike vampires, werewolves and zombies......chavs are real.
Two naive but nice adults go camping at Eden Lake, they come across a group of chav kids who torture and humiliate them. The things the couple are subjected to are very disturbing but also the kind of things we read about in the newspapers everyday. The acting is very good and the characters are all believable. I was expecting the ending but it still left me feeling flat.
Never thought much of Halle Berry but thats changed now,she was brilliant in this movie, this is without a doubt her best work to date. Benicio Del Torro was also great and also the supporting cast - the children were fantastic. Thing We Lost In The Fire is about grief, addiction and several unlikely friendships. It features great camera work and direction. Very good.
I enjoyed Girl With A Pearl Earring more than i thought i would infact i only recorded it because i knew Cillian Murphy was in it. The whole movies got a mysterious feel,i feel like we never really know what the characters are "really" thinking and i liked it that way. Colin Firth was great and this is the only movie i have found him attractive in. Scarlett Johansson was okay besides from the fact that she looked like a shocked rabbit for 95% of the movie.
Having cried my eyes out at The Duchess this was probably not a wise choice for my next movie to watch. The Boy In The Striped Pajamas was not what i was expecting, for starters i guessed it was a subtitled movie when infact most of the cast were British and spoke like Eastenders extras.
I do not want to give too much away about the movie but its pulls on your heart, its an amazing example of how innocent young children are and how they view the world around them. This movie made me COL - cry out loud.
