Hunger (2009, Unrated)
The story of Bobby Sands takes about half way into the film. The most dialogue in the films occurs during the scenes between Sands and his priest. Unfortunately the Irish accents are thick, but I understood what its all about. The final scenes in the film are tough to watch as we witness Sands' slowly dying of starvation. It is hard to imagine anyone throwing themselves to such suffering. Fassbender is very good in the role, giving us a character that is perfect in his choices and beliefs. He believes his suffering serves a purpose, and though some may disagree with his choices, one can't help but admire his conviction. |

Last Chance Harvey (2009, PG-13)
LAST CHANCE HARVEY is a romantic drama. The journey Dustin Hoffman takes to London and his encounter with the marvelous Emma Thompson creates a story that is so entertaining and enjoyable. The London locations, the brilliant chemistry between Emma and Dustin, and the joy and luck they found in each other is wonderful enfolded on the screen. The writing is superb, the London locations so fantastic to the story and film, and the supporting cast is excellent. I loved this film, and the music in the film was simply awesome.. |

The Butterfly Effect 3: Revelations (2009, R)
I saw the first movie of the series with Ashton Kutchner, which was pretty good, I have not seen the second one, but seeing the rates I guess it was a disaster and I don't think that this one could be better. |

The Haunting in Connecticut (2009, PG-13)
I'm not a horror fan, and neither horror movies do attract me to watch but Haunting in Connecticut is a true story so I thought why not give it a try? I dont know what to expect of this movie. Is this movie going to be horrible, or is this movie going to be good?" The first fifteen minutes pretty much talks about the son having cancer, and the reason why they have to move into the house and why they can't move out. The movie was overall pretty good, but there was some flaws. Having something popping out every five second's can get pretty annoying, and the movie reminded me to many other movies. For example, when all the chairs getting stacked on to the table reminded me of The Poltergeist. The possessions reminded me of The Unborn. The scares were pretty scary, the effects and picture quality were good, but cheap, and the acting was decent. Overall, the movie wasn't too scary, it was mostly creepy. |

Knowing (2009, PG-13)
Knowing" is different from other thrillers because it isn't mindless. It's sometimes triggers a variety of emotions for the viewer. The film is funny when it needs to be, after having watch a very disturbing scene. The action scenes are amazing, in a good way, actually, because it's not just "Wow. Although because they are very hard to watch. The film really pushes the PG-13 rating, and some shots are so good that I was left speechless. Very entertaining film. |

The Last House on the Left (2009, R)
I guess this isn't a film for all tastes, you may have a difficult time watching this one. Like the original film there's a brutal rape scene and some very bloody violence. It has some terrific action sequences and remains quite intense throughout. The cast delivers good performances, the cinematography is pretty done, and excellent makeup work. |

Antichrist (2009, Unrated)
Can anyone please tell me why this movie was called Antichrist? Maybe because it was just pure hell to watch? Or what? The story could not move me and bored me to death. Von Trier only used two actor to make this movie and there was no chemistry and no storyline among them. It was terribly in the first half and the end was kind of art. The movie was not believable at all. So many things fell short in here, too much too mention. Not my type of movie, why I watched it in the first place? Too curious I guess. Well curiosity bored me.... |
